For those of you who rely on various tools to help you book more meetings, I want to show you how you can use this hidden LinkedIn feature to help you book more calls and at least start more conversations.
Prerequisites to this method are:
- You must have a LinkedIn account.
- The person you are targeting must be connected to you.
- This feature is only available on the phone app. Must have the app.
Without any further ado, the feature I am suggesting is LinkedIn video messages.
Here are the steps to send a video through chat from left to right.
- Click on your LinkedIn app.
- Go to the profile of the person you want to message. Click “Message”
- Click on the attachment icon on the bottom left.
- Click “Take a video” and double-click on the screen to get the camera to face you.
- Be creative and send a quick message to gain attention and show you know your stuff.
Here are some ideas on how you can engage with video:
- Introduce yourself and your company.
- Leave them with value for accepting your connection i.e., free services, case studies, research, etc.
- Show them you’ve done research on their company and say you’re interested in continuing the conversation over a quick chat.
- Make sure the audio and video are of good quality.
- Retake as many times as you think you should, but keep the message and attitude genuine.
